WA Courts Support Mental Illness

Aftercare welcomes news from WA Mental Health Commission in announcing the implementation of WA’s first mental health court division and support project for adults and young people.

The project is due to commence in the first quarter of 2013 and will be piloted over 20 months.

This initiative will provide more options for people with a mental illness who appear before court, as well as increase the capacity of the court to better support people, whilst addressing the offending behaviour.
