NDIS FAQ’s: What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a national system providing individualised support for people with a permanent and significant disability, their families and carers. We have answered some of the most commonly asked questions about the NDIS to prepare you for the scheme.
Health Practitioner Tools
With the roll out of the NDIS across Australia, general practitioners play a key role in providing ‘evidence of disability’ and its impact on a person with a mental health diagnoses. Completing the “Evidence of Disability Form” is a key piece of evidence assessed by NDIA to determine participants’ eligibility. Aftercare understands that the impacts of mental health are often not always articulated by patients, so we have developed some useful tools to ensure that you have all the right information when assessing your patients. Understanding the areas of functional impact and some of the often invisible ways mental health can affect your patients is key to assisting them to obtain the right level of support under the NDIS.
